Bonus Content Video-How to create a backwards reverb

One of the most asked for techniques, from my students, is how to make a backwards reverb in Pro Tools. I created a simple companion video to my book which demonstrates how to make a backwards reverb.

Back in the old analog days, you would have to flip the reel over and then print the reverb to an empty track or two. In a way, it was easier to do in the analog world, you just had to make sure you were recording on the right track, as the track numbers get reversed once the tape is backwards. Other than that, it is relatively simple.

In a Digital Audio Workstation, things are as straight forward, as they don't run in reverse. I demonstrate the appropriate techniques for reversing a track while still maintaining the timing of the original source material.

Check my website at: http://www.secretsofrecording.com/bonus.html to view this video as an extra bonus feature for those who have bought the book, and those who are thinking about it.

Thanks,
Lorne

  1. Man you are a God Sent!!!! I have been looking for something like this for a while. I was so impressed by the technique that I bought the book. If you don't have it in video form, you should work on it!
